Well I have been waiting for a bomb to drop because this first week of school has been a BREEZE! We have had one little issue but for now I will leave it out of our Family Blog (maybe a later date).
The first day I expected Nick to cry, whine and be upset. Remember last year? If not scroll thru this blog and you can read all about it! He walked with his class lined up and never shed a tear! I could tell he was a little upset but he wasn't making eye contact so I didn't want to push it.
He came home that day....and he was excited! WOW I am in shock. All week he has been popping up out of bed at about 5 a.m and wants to get ready for school. He is seriously excited. I have no idea what has changed but I am so happy!

He is so tall! I kept trying to call his name to say I love you..he didn't want to look.
In case you are wondering he is 4ft 3 and 74 pounds of solid boy!

This will be Natalie's last year of Junior High.

HHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH a Kindergartner and a Senior!

Tonight on our way home from the grocery store Nick sat in the backseat and said "Mommy I sure wish school was everyday because I love it"
WOW I wanted to call everyone and yell it out the window! I am so relieved because after the time we had last year I really was looking at our options if this year wasn't going to work out.

We are back to our crazy schedule. Soccer,Dance,Volleyball...no cheer. That was a little weird but soooooo nice in so many ways.
Natalie made the Volleyball team. I knew she would and I am pretty excited over it.
Ashlynn had her first dance class and was so excited for days but when it was time to go in the class...she cried and cried the entire hour. The crazy thing is when she came home she showed me every single thing that went on in the class. Now she is back to being excited about her next class.

Well hopefully I can update our Family blog more often now that school is back in!

We went to meet the Teacher at Nick's school...sniff sniff
He seemed very intimidated at first when the teacher was talking to him and of course I stood there tearing up about to burst into tears! I had to just look away and tune it all out. His classroom is so big and colorful. I don't think I have ever seen such an organized class ever. It really looks like he will have so much fun!

I thought it was really neat that as each child walks in the teacher greets the child, talks for a minute and then you follow the foot prints thru the room and stop at each stop sign and follow the directions that are at each stop. Very cute idea. I think it helped to see each and every part of her classroom.
With Summer coming to an end I feel like we had the most boring Summer ever but I am soooo thankful for that.We normally camp more but as I am sure you know it is SO DANG HOT! So we have been indoors alot this past month and I just can't wait for Fall. The cool air, leaves falling and the smell of Fall.

With Fall comes School, Sports and lots of Outdoor time. We decided to put Nick in Soccer this year just to give it a try. I figured he actually wouldn't like it because of the running but WOW! He LOVES IT! He almost seems like a natural. Like he has been playing all along. Maybe he just has extra energy to burn.

So guess who else loves to watch him practice....

Straight from Ashlynn's mouth....
It''s my birdday It's my Birdday It's my birdday (singing over and over)

I'm a birdday grill I'm a birdday grill I'm a birdday grill (singing over and over)

Mommmmeeeeee I am a BIRTHDAY GIRL!

She was so excited that she turned 3 this year. I let time get away and was kind of thinking it would confuse her if I didn't do her party on the same date. Sooooo the day of her actual birthday we had some things going on (will tell more later) that day that we HAD to take care of. I was feeling guilty because I didn't have a chance to go get her anything but totally planned on it. Well we ran to do what we had to do and several hours later we came home.....Lauren and Tyler decorated the house in Hello Kitty, baked cupcakes and bought her gifts! Ashlynn walked in to what she thought was her own private party! SHE WAS SO EXCITED! Thank god for big sisters and Awesome kids!!!

We do also plan on having a little party for her next weekend.

Our Healthy eating plan is going very well. I never thought it would last this long but it has and to be honest with you all we feel so good! Our energy level is up. No tummy problems, not heavy feeling and just feel so good.
Don't get me wrong I had a day last week that I wanted to have a bag of chips and a freaking bowl of ice cream! I would have walked a mile in this heat just to have a bite!
But we have been real creative with our meals and it has been fun. Our refrigerator looks like a rainbow of fresh fruits and vegetables and I LOVE IT!

This was eggplant, yellow squash and asparagus. My pickiest eater in the house actually ate this and I was shocked! I just baked it with salt, pepper, garlic salt, and lemon juice. MMMMMMM GOOD!
