Last night one of the kids came in and needed me to sign a permission slip for health. I was really thinking it was going to be for a "sex talk" video or something. Normally they do that in 5th grade but whatever....So as I was scanning over the paper I realized that it was actually permission for a curriculum now being taught.
P.A.P.A (Parenting and Paternity awareness) it is taught to Junior High students. Instead of typing it all out I am including the link.

Go ahead look at it.

WOW is all I can say! What do you think of that? I think it is sad. Sad that at such an early age kids are starting to deal with these issues. Sad that it is reality. After 2nd semester I have started to notice several girls at the High School who are beginning to "show".
I wonder how many girls are pregnant every school year in our school district. While I am on the subject...Have you ever noticed that now condoms are kept locked up in the store? So say you are 16 (or any age really)and you need them. Are you really going to go ask customer service to unlock the condoms? How embarrassing for a "kid". Yes some say that if they are doing it they shouldn't be embarrassed but guess what. They are. Just like you may have been. I personally would have walked right on past that cabinet.
Anyways this little curriculum just had me thinking and I had to share it.
